New Yoda in Star Wars
I was watching the "Making Of Star Wars In Concert" on five the other day and the guy who's put it all together dropped an interesting snippet. They were showing the finished edit of the movies along with the music to George Lucas and he commented on a part of the Phantom Menace saying "Oh, you're using the old Yoda". He meant the puppet version of young Yoda that was used in Phantom Menace in the Jedi Council scenes. Apparently Old George has been tinkering again and got ILM to digitally replace puppet Yoda in TPM with a CGI version that matches the one used in AOTC and ROTS.
I've just done a bit of digging on the Internet and apparently it's on the new box set of the prequel films which I didn't bother buying. I wish he'd stop bloody f*cking about with these films!!!

Re: New Yoda in Star Wars
Me too, every time he adds something to the original trilogy the less I like 'em.....still I guess it his prerogative, seeing as he created the whole thing.
Still, I keep thinking that he's going to tinker about untill the films are unrecognisable...maybe he's under pressure from Hasbro "Hey George we've created a wicked looking new alien action figure, can you add it someplace in the background so the kid's will rush to buy it?"

That rumour has been floating about for a while, some say its deffo others say its just rumour. However since Lucas has now become a tinkerer I wouldn't be surprised if we get a CGI Yoda, but then again I never liked the Yoda puppet in The Phantom Menace, it looked just odd compared to the previous incarnations.

i still think lucas should have given us eps. 7, 8, 9 instead.
something along the lines of the comic Dark Empire wouldve been great.

I have an original TPM disk, I can't even recall if Yoda was CGI, tho I know AOTC was. I thought the TPM Yoda was odd too, but I always thought the new Yoda looked crap. To unlike the OT.

First off, I'm not buying it.
Secondly, I think that's the first of big fat George's tinkerings that actually makes sense. TPM Yoda looked like green dogshit.

I don't get why he looked so crap when they used the same techniques as the OT.

Re: New Yoda in Star Wars
It may of had something to do with the lighting, do you think?
In O.T. he was mostly in dimly lit scenes..also, did Frank Oz operate the puppet in TPM?
