Out of curiosity how different do they have to be?

I would imagine that using the pictures of Flint and drawing new backgrounds to make a brand new story not for profit would be OK. These are more like the strips from the MAF comics - tweaks here and there. I did think about using cut out Flint pics etc etc for new comics, but in the end I'm hand drawing one (though it's slow)
