It's basically saying if something needs mended/fixed take the time and do it now, otherwise it will take alot more time and effort to fix later.PoetFlint wrote:"A stitch in time saves nine."
So in old timey language I suppose if your mittens had a small hole in them, take some time and put a stitch in it to fix it rather than do noting and have a huge hole and need 9 stitches to fix it.
