I jokingly suggested, once, that Star Wars fans will set up a community devoted to the movie & live in a perfect replica of Mos Eisley space port someplace in the desert...this guys purchased 80 acres of land & is building a life sized replica of the Falcon..well it's a start.

Turret gun look a bit crappy, but hey ho. I like the guy's T-Shirt "Please baby, hold together!" Nice. This story reminds that didn't Peter Jackson agree with the studio that he could keep the 'Bag End' set with a view to having it fitted in a hill somewhere and live in it when he felt like it?

Not if Disney keeps dumbing him down with their Clubhouse stupidity.
As far as lifesize props go, I think the one that takes the cake is the Gundam 'cause it seems to be fully functional. However, I prefer the others of that kind (Bumblebee, Smokescreen and the Millennium Falcon that brings us here today); I find functionality an excess.

I've heard, someplace, that he's still got the full sized prop' one (built for Empire) in storage..but I don't know if it's just a rumour or not.

The life sized Flying wing from Raiders Of The Lost Ark was destroyed during filming, & I saw the Naboo fighter on display @ the Barbican Centre.
I wonder if the full scale X-Wing & Snow Speeder's still survive?
Probably not, the sad truth is that most of these kind of things were too large & expensive to store plus most film props just aren't built to survive.

Back when I was in college (1993) a friend of mine from Cardiff told me how he wondered into the warehouse where they were building the full size prop for Empire, (Back in 1978 ish). He showed me some pics that were simply amazing! I don't think the prop ever left the UK as all the shots were done over here.
