Re: WTF George?
I enjoyed the zahn books but would love to see dark empire made into a movie.
Luke going to the dark side to defeat the resurrected emperor.
Crackin story following directly from rotj.
Also I think this was the first expanded story.

Re: WTF George?
But Mr Lucas nixed the entire expanded universe as nonsense & not official cannon (or is that canon with one 'n'?).
I thought the X Wing comics were superb, but otherwise gave up on everything else as the stories were getting way too repetitive & felt like it all starting to go very stale... if we get a new film every two-three years the movies themselves,I fear, will fall into the same trap.
Their talking about episodes 7-9, will the original cast be involved?
Knowing that a lot of the cast only recieved flat one off payments originally, just imagine how much some would demand for reprising their roles again...Mark Hamill's agent must be rubbing his hands in anticipation @ the moment.

Re: WTF George?
George says he already has storylines for the next 3 so I doubt we'll get any expanded universe stuff.

I think you are right, Steve. 100%. We have already decided for ourselves what we think SW is. Its obvious that even under GL's directorship that is not always whet he sees. Plenty of sh*t canning over his prequels. Way I see it, it was his vision and we got to see that. Like it or loathe it. Some were obviously better than others.
Here's a thought, maybe we get Joss Whedon on board for a film or too. That would be f*cking awesome.
DA, I downloaded a bootleg of SOTS ages ago, still love the ole Remus.

Re: WTF George?
Turns out it wasn't for the money as Lucas has given most of the money to charity. I can't help but think he's doing it just to annoy people and do his own thing. Is he trolling the diehard fans?

I think he is genuine. He's set his family up, he's ensured Star Wars will continue. But to take it out of is own hands must have been a hard thing to do. In retrospect, I think he's done the right thing. I wonder if he has kept the Millennium Falcon?

I'm concerned about the future of Lucasfilm's Archive..., you know thier unique prop, model & costume storage barn, as much as I'd love it to be open to the public display I'd hate to see it all 'Dineyfied' up into the centrepiece of some trashy theme park.

I saw a lot of those props a couple of years back when they were at Science works. I would hope a proper museum could be set up. Last I heard GL still had the full size Falcon in his possession. Not sure if that's true or not.

If that was a shooting gallery, it'd be fine.
