A new hope was on at the weekend and was thinking it was inevitable more sw films would be made and i guess they will be on their way. Cant help thinking any new films might stand more of a chance without george at the reins.

Good call Krakers. I don't think even Disney can come up with something worse than Jar Jar!!
Perhaps the new stuff (and I agree it is sure to come) will go the way of the cartoon Clone Wars. It started off really shite, but improved steadily.
I only watch it on the Cartoon Network because my kids like it....despite the fact they are playing in another room when it's on...at Grandma's house......

There has been a great disturbance in the force. As if a million voices cried out in terror.

I think the one company that COULD have come up with Jah jah is Disney. I would ask what have disney produced that wasn't purile or just plain rubbish? At least GL had a track record and the odd win. TCW being one of them.

But its Disney, the overwhelming majority of their stuff is mindless tripe. POTC also died in the same way.

Re: WTF George?
I have a bad feeling about this
As for a new film every two to three years, I fear, it'll just milk this cash cow bone dry.
Maybe the sale to Disney had been the plan all way along...how else can you explain Greedo firing first or Jar Jar & co?

"...as if millions of voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced."
Well, Disney (rather quietly) owned Miramax at its peak output. Perhaps there is hope.
On the other hand, THX 1138, Star Wars IV-VI, Indiana Jones and a bit of American Graffitti were the high points for Lucasfilm. Those days are long gone.
Also, at USD 4bn he has undersold the value of the older rights AND the Industrial Light and Magic division (and the THX sound division). Jobs got a good value for similar items when he sold Pixar.
Anyway, what to do.
