Advice needed on setting up a web sstore

Post by the enemy muton »

I'm thinking about it, and a quick search turned up this -

http://www.freewebstore.org/website/index.html

It seems almost too easy; and with Google checkout, I need never have anything to do with ebay, or Paypal again. I know at least a couple of guys here run there own web stores, so what do I need to know if I do it?

In life NOTHING is free. You prolly get to pay a fee when people make their orders via your site.

Also, check out the tax angle before you commit to anything. At the very least you'll want to purchase a URL.

Google checkout will take a percentage of the sale, same as paypal. Free might do you initially but sooner or later you'll need to buy a "proper" site.
