i've just had the misfortune of looking through the listings for action force on eBay and either in somerset to buy an mail lite envelope costs less than everywhere else in the country and our stamps are half price or there are some real assholes out there who are shamelessly adding ridiculous amounts to postage, as well as listing items over priced you also get the pleasure of paying £4 for a figure to be sent to you. why does it cost that much to post a figure have i missed something? ok moan over.

Ebay hate it as much as me and you because they lose out too. It's a scam to maximise profit by offsetting ebay final value fees. Sellers know that most buyers include postage when deciding how much to bid.

So if two items both cost $25 including postage, but the postage is $5 on the first and $10 on the second then ebay get less commission from the second item.

Sellers can be reported, but proving they are overcharging is difficult if they claim that the cost includes transport to the post office and time (labour).

High postage costs are the main reason I've not been buying of ebay for a while now...I can understand high prices for large or if it's coming via par av-ion, but when you see sellers charging up to 2 quid say for a tiny action figures gun?

One seller I've dealt with a couple of times, always sends me the smallest accessories in a large C4 sized envelope carefully covered in sellotape...very secure granted, but a bit silly for a tiny light saber.

Still, I suppose that's better then the ones who after charging a small fortune in postage & packaging, send the goods out to you 2nd class in a recycled cornflakes packet wrapped with lashings of parcel tape

I agree; just last night I saw a complete Shad that was only up to £1.20 - then I saw the P&P was £5.99 .

And what about US sellers? How come some can send me a dozen figs and charge only $10 shipping while some guys want $30 to ship just the one?

Asked that question of a US seller once. If they get off their arse and go to a post office it can be cheaper. If they do it through ebay there is only one International rate with all sorts of insurance attached.

I find some US sellers to be shocking. They might aswell say they wont sell to the UK rather than trying to charge $40! It's liek you say though - if they quote the postage, at least the you can factor it into how much you are willing to bid.

I did get one US seller to give me the same discount he offered to US buyers as I had bought a complete mini series off him otherwise I would have had to pay postage on each issue. Sod that for a game of soldiers.

yes, i frequently see one US seller charge something like 3 or 4 quid for postage and another wants 22 quid for postage. and i immediately think "f*ck right off!" especially if they only want less than a tenner for the item.

seriously, twice the BiN price for postage? no chance.

I'm sick of it, I'm going to go for shock tactics from now on and email the seller first and ask them about the postage what I'm willing to pay if they don't like it I won't buy, I don't need to get much more anyway so I'm not fussed either way.
