Post by skyline »

Okay so I spent a lot of time hunting out all my International Joe bits yesterday this is probably about 75% of what I got, but I got bored looking and it was getting late so I gave up and started taking pictures...

I especially like the Japanese packaging, it just stands out a bit more to my eyes.

Please tell us more about the C.O.P.S stuff, I've never seen it before, where does it come from?

Sometime in the 1990s, an Argentinian toy company got its hands on left-over Plastirama toy stock. They repackaged and resold these Plastirama G.I.Joe toys, with no mention of G.I.Joe at all.

Pictured above is are four different boxed toy that was sold in Argentina with the logo "C.O.P.S.". The figures are (clockwise, from upper left) Sokerk, Sparta, Ripcord, and Sgt Slaughter.

Also included with each action figure is a plastic playset.

The packaging has no date stamp, other than a "Made in Argentina" logo.

I would also like to note the only one I have ever opened had a pac-rat inside

I have to say that chap on the front of the COPS box has a very impressive bust on him, he looks like one of those female Russian athletes from the early 80s :-D .

A truly superb collection, I am very envious of your Brazilian Tiger Force imparticular, especially the Shipwreck - he is one of my most wanted figures. I always think of him as 'Disco Shipwreck'.
