Mullet Ninja
Mullet Ninja
I teach sword at a Martial Arts school, and one of my students found this on Youtube.
If you don't find it funny then I apologise, but I laughed my socks off at his "Dragon twister" technique

Re: Mullet Ninja
Funny, but @ the same time slightly disturbing..
I wonder if you have time to re-adjust ones clothing during a sword fight??
Please excuse my ignorance here, but do you have a set number of moves that you have to master in martial arts sword fighting...like in Karate with the moves (katas I think they're called) a friend of mines husband used to spend hours learning set routines & once met the guy who played Dart Maul @ a national competition, years before he got the Star Wars gig...

I did get my hopes up a bit, either expecting him to hit himself in the knackers or accidentally chopping off his own pony tail

Yes, but to be honest I find the traditional sword thing a bit boring.
This however is much more entertaining, and I'm trying to teach my students some of the techniques. This guy is awesome by the way...

That's impressive, I know them things are sharp...I guess you have to teach with wooden swords in this country for legal as well as safety reasons.
I'm a big Star Wars fan

Using Boken (wooden swords) is traditional as far as I know Thundershot rather than a legal or safe reason.

I did a sword seminar for a school in Catterick once, and the chief instructor had an FX lightsaber oddly enough. When everyone went home we stayed back and had a play with the lights off. I have to admit I was a bit worried about dropping and breaking it. But it was good fun though.
We also use blunt aluminium swords as well as wooden bokkens.
