The good, the bad and the fugly

Post by Chopper »

Righto. Where to begin? I've had a crap 6 months, lost my granddad, job and had to deal with a dying father in law amongst other equally diabolical sh*t things that I won't bring up here. I've not had a life for that long and finally I got 2 job offers this week, I picked the tougher more challenging one, building and supporting rack mounted servers and storage solutions.

No sooner had that all happened my father in law died, on Thursday. It seems to be impossible to get a break. He was a old school tough bugger that said little, but a nice guy under it all. He even allowed me to move in when I came to Melbourne, albeit in separate rooms to my wife. I'm missing him already, him and his grey nomad ways. Life rolls on.

Anyway, over the next few weeks I plan to sort out my collection (and trades), get back into a working band and finish off some colouring. Get back into a routine where I can finally have some spare time to myself. I'm knackered, the amount of work gone into finding a job has been draining and I still can't quite heave that sigh of relief. My faith has been shattered lately and my pessimistic side is working overtime.

Anyway, as Roger Waters said;

There you go, my life in a nutshell, and its marching on so I don't plan to waist it ;-)

Really sorry to hear about your granddad and father-in-law. My thoughts are with you and your family. My wife lost her dad to cancer some 9 years ago and knowing it was coming it didn't soften the blow one bit.

Good luck with the new job - didn't think that servers would be able to handle to the heat over there. ;-)

Good luck with the new job mate, hope it goes well for ya.

Life's a funny old business when you look @ it, all you can really do is take it one day @ a time & make the most of it.

I, myself, am going to live today as if it was my last by laying in bed all day slipping in & out of consciousness ;-)
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!

Hey buddy,

You've had a tough few months, and I can definatley sympathise. I hope the new job goes well, and I think it's a sign things are going to pick up. Even though things seem bad at times, we just have to try and get on with it.

My son was still born on the 27th January this year, and despite my wife and I both being devastated by this and are still grieving, we have both decided that the best thing to do is just try to get on with life best we can; continue with our college course etc.

People have said to us that even though we will always feel very sad about our loss, with time it will get easier.

And that's my advise to you. Not sure if it may help, but it certainly helped me a great deal.
