I not sure either. For a start Face is no where near as good looking as he should be and what the f&ck is the stubble about? Secondly why go for virtual unknowns? Surely there are enough A list or more experienced actors that would have watched the program as kids and wanted to do it. Maybe they could'nt afford them but I think George Clooney would have been a better Hannibal and Jim Carrey for face. So now I have kicked off the who would be better for the roles debate before its anywhere near the cinemas.
I actually like the look of this and would prefer them to not be "A" listers - too often im watching a film and its obviously Brad Pitt or some other famous person im watching and not the character in the story itself... If that makes sense? Also keeps it kind of true to the original where only Peppard was at the time or had been a true A list star...
the studio may have felt that it was better to go for non-A-list actors so that the characters are the star, not the actors. or it could've been a fiscal move - cheaper and more likely to be able to sign them for that all important three-picture-deal...
It may be good but I get the feeling they won't be Vietnam Veterans more likely Gulf War or Afghanistan veterans to modernise them. It's pretty much all they did to modernise Iron Man's backstory for the film.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?
