Shocking

Post by humby248 »

Guys I have posted this after seeing it on Facebook. I am not saying anybody on here does it but please if you phone someone and you know they are driving tell them to ring you when they are not. I spend at least 3 hours a day driving and the amount of idiots I see speaking on a handheld and texting is shocking.
Ever since I saw a mother crying on This Morning because her 6 year old daughter was killed by someone speaking on a handheld mobile I have viewed it as bad as drink driving.
Maybe if we can push the message further on here it may prevent an accident one day. Please also for those who use Facebook post it on your profile.

Nice thought mate but no matter what you do people will still do it and cause accidents.

You also need to think of the emergency service people dealing with the carnage. From my perspective when A&E call to alert us of an incident it has a profound effect. I have two lasting memories of car crash victims. The first was a ten year old boy whose father's car left the road and crashed through a road sign. I had to take the blood to resus and was greeted by the boy on one of the tables bleeding his last all over the floor.

The second was an Audi TT vs a Fiesta the 17 year old female driver of the fiesta was the worst injured (three passengers badly injured too) We worked for 5 hours crossmatching blood for her until the surgeons could do no more.

So like Humby says drive carefully, go home safely to your family and let us sleep at night with out re living the horror of the aftermath.
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Me to the amount of times some bastard has nearly hit me while I was walking or nearly hit my mum's car while doing that is ridiculous.

We will never know for sure but if we carry on with this message maybe one day an accident will be averted because of this thread. I have seen some people doing it in company vehicles and because of that I will not deal with those companies. I reported it to one company without giving the reg and they assured me that from then on all there employees would recieve a letter ordering them not to do it. Hopefully they are true to their word. Since then though I have'nt seen any of them doing it.

Not to be sexist but I see a lot more women do it one who swerved and was an inch away from smacking my mum's car.

I was driving along when I noticed the stupid bint next to me gassing away on the motorway! Bad enough but in the back was a small baby in a carrier. When we stopped I tooted and told her she was bang out of order. Funnily she put the phone down. What sort of mother puts her phone conversation before her babies safety!

unfortunatly most people are so self obsessed they are incapable of thinking of others!
i have lost too many friends to motorcycle & car accidents, only 1 of which was caused by them & thank god no-one else was hurt by their stupidity (sounds harsh, but never fogiven the stupid sod!)
have been involved in a couple myself, one of which i was a pedestrian (although it wasnt an accident, a jealous ex-boyfriend ran me over - not my ex boyfriend!)
The level of driving in Hong Kong is terrible, so many bus & taxi accidents.

It's insane how many people text and drive. My brother in law was taken out at a crossroads in New Jersey by an SUV last year, the driver ran the red light at speed while texting. She was sandwiched by the airbag and shopping in the back and otherwise had a lucky escape. His car was written off.

Had a few close shaves with texters but no catastrophe yet. Generally ram on the horn, give them the finger and let them lip read some of choice insults. As if average spatial awareness levels were not already severely challenged, mobiles might as well come with organ donor forms. Until massive disincentives are introduced on the insurance front people will just wallow in the same complacent contempt for fellow human beings, prosecutions seem so weak for offenders their are few disincentives there.
