Tundra Trooper Stalker
Hi Gang
O.K, so I'll put my hand up & say that I've changed my mind on this guy...for ages it was on my list of "no never in a million years!" figures to add to my collection for being un-realistic & too toy like, but after winning it with a half hearted bid on the 'bay ( I was the only bidder & just bid the starting price)....I've gotta say, now it's here, it's pretty damn good...apart from that stupid looking mask thing, that is.

You attached the counterweight upside down.
Personally, I think this figure is very well thought out. The masasive gun on the kayak looks pretty daft, but the counterweight makes it pheasable. The mask is to protect him from snow-blindness, but I agree it has a kinky edge to it.

He looks ok I was never keen on this version of Stalker I remember that uniform only lasted a few issues in Marvel's run.

Thanks Jaye, I sould of checked out YoJoe before I put it together really...oh well thanks for pointing it out to me before a certain somebody else did

(no sarcasm involved there b.t.w.)
Thanks I.B. maybe I'm getting soft in my old age, but I've changed my mind on a lot of Joe stuff I wouldn't of touched with a barge pole a few years ago... 'cept for that later space aged & neon Power Ranger wannabe rubbish.

Re: Tundra Trooper Stalker
I originally disliked that
figure because he lacked his trademark beret, but one day I saw him in Santiago and well,
is a very important chara and I lacked him, so I bought him anyways and now I like the figure, maybe because is MY
figure, similar case with Eco-Warriors Flint (same must happen with people who has bought things like Spinning Blade He-Man, yellow-blue-and-black repaint Skeletor, Deep Dive Batman, Brain vs Brawn Bane, and derivates like those).
The figure was without his accessories, so I gave him a gun and backpack from other versions of
(those accessories were without their owner as part ofa huge load of Joe and
figures).

Re: Tundra Trooper Stalker
Must be a trend with this figure Martin...I bet he looks good with the old ones accessories + this versions hunting knive, before I got hold of the weapons for version one
, mine used to carry Frostbites M16, the one with large scope on it? That really suited him nicely.
I could never get my head around all the versions of Batman that have come out though out the ages...I'd be happy just one good version of the Batsuit from the 1st Burton Batman film in my collection. He-Man another line I've changed my mind on as well, didn't like it as a kid, but now look @ the range with a certain fondness, not enough to own any..but I can now see how revolutionary the line was in retrospect. I do like the new M.O.T.U. classics line have you seen any yet?

Re: Tundra Trooper Stalker
I could be treading some dangerous waters here with saying that I liked this version of Stalker over the original. Could be me and not really caring for the original 13 too though, being in the US and all. They all were too much of the same to be anything other than just basic soldiers. This is one of those figures that stood out with the accessories. That mask of his was always one of my favorite items of his other than the kayak itself. Did you do anything special to him? Can't really tell other than the lack of the mask.

Hi Momaw..
Nope apart from putting the counter balance on upside down
, he's just as I recieved him in the post this morning & is 100% original as far as I know...maybe it's the light?
I can see the idea of the mask i.e. protection from the cold & to help prevent snow blindness(?) but I like to see his face myself..just my personnal taste really, I do have the mask, but have displayed it hanging off the machine gun/oars leaned up, in a sort of moored up ready for action position.
I think this set sort of complements the
Silent Attack nicely as well.
