Why the stress?

Two weeks seems perfectly reasonable to me.

It is a very expensive item.

I've waited on payments before and - so far - never had any issues.

I think maybe the winner should have contacted you before the end of the auction but considering the amount I would wait that long... Id just be annoyed if I needed the money urgently as itll be another week afrter that for the paypal money to go through to your bank...

There may not have been time to contact you in advance. I've stumbled across auctions with 30 seconds remaining and managed to win them.

Check his feedback for a better picture. He has 100% positives. http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI ... llFeedback

If he is serious but cannot aafford to buy, maybe ask him for a down-payment as a show of good faith?

Agreed Baron. Putting down whatever he can now would help grease the wheels wouldn't it?
If we are doing a contract at work that's in the tens of thousands we'd only go ahead if we had a down payment.
I assume he wasn't asking you to send him the item and pay for it two weeks later? I say give the guy another chance :-D
And... looking at his purchased items on his feedback page... he likes Led Zep! He can't be all that bad!?!

I don't see the problem. Two weeks is perfectly legit imo.

Actually he was one of the "will you end and sell to me" emails I got on day 1 so he had plenty of time to work out a payment plan if I was so inclined.

yes his feedback is good but it's all rinky dink stuff and several repros of rare joes

I have bid on stuff for more than this and always paid promptly becuase I only bid when i can pay.

I told him he has 7 days to pay or he loses it. 7 days is reasonable
