original prices

Post by automuton »

Does anyone remember what the original prices of figures/vehicles were? I seem to remember that I had to save 7 pounds for my first Shadowtrak, but although I remember buying it quite clearly, I can't remember why that number sticks in my head and it seems suspect.

I just bought an unopened Triad fighter, and I'm pretty sure it has deflated in real terms, but I wonder if I beat the original sticker?

I was wonedring about his the otehr day when I was sorting through the loft I found a boxed AF3 with an original price sticker of ?6.60.

The problem is was this the original rrp price or was it a clearence price, the reason I ask is that the box is sealed and usually it indicates the item was unsold by the toy shop.

I seem to remember that at the time star wars ships were around ?13 upwards so this would seem really cheap compared

I seem to recall the tank being a similar price to the Millenium Falcon, as I has to choose between the two one christmas....

I think most of the vehicles were around ?10 or so

I'm sure back when they first came out I was paying about ?1.50 a figure I remember this as I use to get 50p pocket money so would have to save three weeks unless we visited my distant grandparents who would give me a pound so that week I could just go and buy a figure, the excitment of having that money burning a hole in my pocket. as to vehicles the first series I can't remember but the second lot the shadow track was my first in this collection and my small brain is throwing out figures of either ?8.50 or ?14. and I got it from argos.

The memories come flooding back.
