Meshing character traits to create the perfect version

Post by DAMartin »

Action Force/GI Joe has had many versions, and the ame characters change from one continuity to another. The villains tend to be the most changed. So, I think we should post which are our favourite traits from each villain to create his/her perfect version.

I will begin with the main villain: :cobracommander: . I think he CAN have humorous moments, having fits of anger, critizicing his troops and being a bit childish (like in the TV) but, at the same time, he must be intelligent and menacing. He should NOT be neither a coward nor incompetent. Also, some BAF fans will kill me, but :cobracommander: should not kill his own troops, unless they try to betray him or another powerful reason.

I will write other characters later, but Iwant you all to try it (For example, I want to know how is Golden Puma's perfect :firefly: )
:cobracommander: "You were engineered with such potential, Serpentor. But you lack the most important DNA of all... mine."

I'm not sure but doesn't BAF CC only kill his troops at the end when he loses his mind?

But yes, it's definitely more of an Ironblood trait.

I suppose there was the Minefield scene from Revenge of the Red Shadows, where he orders his troops to pick a path clear? I always found that hard to believe - Shadows would do it as they were brainwashed drones, whereas Cobra Troopers were mercenaries. Similarly I wasn't sold on the rebellious Shadows in Codename Kraken.

Well, Baron, then you should write here which are your dreamy versions of :baron: (even though there's only one version to pick) and the :shadow: (taking your favourite traits from BAF and Devil's Due).
About :cobracommander: killing his own men, maybe I exaggerated a bit, but I was refering to, for example, the story where :cobra: robbed the BAF comics. That story was suppossed to be more light-hearted than the rest, but even then he killed a :ctrooper: . However, there were some stories where killing some guys was very logic. For example, :cobracommander: once killed an AF traitor because, if he betrayed :af: , he also could later betray :cobra: , then he couldn't be trusted.
I also forgot to mention my favourite :cobracommander: background; I think I prefer his Marvel Comics background (dead bro, pyramid schemes, etc).

Now, trying to continue the main theme of this post, I will talk about :destro: 's better character traits:
I like Destro to be regal, he always must keep his dignity. His Background? The Marvel Comics one, being the last laird of a long dinasty of weapon dealers. I also tend to prefer :destro: with a sense of honor (also taken from the Marvel Comics). As a last thing, I think his romantic relationship with :baroness: (from many media) is also an important trait.

HAPPY FREAKY PRIDE DAY! May 25

D'oh! I forgot a trait again. :destro: should also talk back to :cobracommander: 's more childish schemes (e.g. Chairface-type Moon graffiti), but not in a violent or traitorous way.

After seeing the re-dubbed GI-JOE PSA gags, I cannot see Snow Job in any other light now

This is how he should be in my book.

The Wild Bill one is deeply disturbing. Thanks for posting!

I think :firefly: is one of the few characters where Marvel and Sunbow painted a fairly similar picture.

If I could add another facet to his persona it would be that every now and again he would remember some of the more honourable traits he must have learned whilst training to be a master of the Koga Ninja Clan.

Well, I will now talk about :baroness: . I think she must be one of the most ruthless and ambitious :cobra: members, but she still has a frienship-like loyalty to :cobracommander: (that sometimes wavers) and love for :destro: . I didn't like the BAF :baroness: who, when :destro: was captured in "School for Snakes", just tought about taking his place as second in command. That makes me think another thing: I think the :cobra: chain of command is headed by a triumvirate: :cobracommander: with slightly more power than the other two, and :baroness: & :destro: in equal terms.
