Good work Ross..I like the one of Chico.
Never really thought about it before, but have you got any formal art training? & do tatoo artists have to pass any sort of certificate or appreticeship?

cheers bill, as far as scanning goes, you dont! good (ok) camera, good natural light!

my dad was an artist, i did gcse & a level, but got a u in my a level due to a disagreement with my art teacher & me throwing my exam piece @ him, & trashing the studio. was my last day @ school........ got offerd a job for a graphic design studio/company but turned it down, it's just not something i can do to order, i have to have the inspiration there to work on something.
after school got into graffiti, then discovered printing, didnt paint for years!

as far as tattooing goes, unfortunatly nothing is required, thats why there are so many crap artists around! i didnt feel my tattoo skills were up to my expectations, thats why i havent tattooed for years.

i dont mean this in a big headed way, but any talent i have is wasted over here!
im doing f#%k all, just dont have the drive to paint, when i do get something it's either cool but for kids in a band with good ideas but no money (so i do it anyway) or someone with money but no sense or imagination wanting me to do crap & making comments like "to be honest i think it's too good"

I know how feel about having to be in the mood to be creative, I spent 3 years @ college learning art & design & ended up driving a van for a living.
The only form of painting I've done since leaving education is decorating my bedroom :-D
I'm a bit shocked to find out you don't need any form of qaulification to be a tatoo artist, I guess you really need to know a artists work & style before having one done.

yep, you really need to look into it!
just start painting again, do it coz you want to, if something springs to mind make the effort to follow through with it, might be frustrating @ 1st, but it makes you feel good about yourself in the longrun!
i worked ad a driver, delivering water, carpet underlay & also worked for securicor doing cash deliveries/pickups for banks.
driving in london is bloody horrible!
