red shadow starfighter, colour scheme advice wanted!
red shadow starfighter, colour scheme advice wanted!
ok, im currently working on customising a f-104 starfighter & im not 100% on the colour scheme!
im thinking dark red body with black & red shadow logo, matt black wings, nose cone & tail fin, with black & white shadow logo.
but then im not sure if it should be the other way round!
any advice would be appreciated! using a 25th anniversary figure for the custom pilot & with a little bit of coaxing he fits perfectly! not gonna show the figure yet, will have to wait until i finish the plane!
this isnt the version i have, i have the u.s. silver one, but have decided i dont want to keep it silver:

I would go with all over red with black on the leading edge of the wings perhaps? What scale is that model? It looks really good.
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

You beat me to it!
I've been keeping an eye out for one of those. I'd planned Red body and wings with a black tail and nosecone.

Are you going to go for a Red Baron W.W.1 colour vibe..? Or more sci-fi..with lots of extra weapons & odd shaped wings with big rocket engines, like something from a Gerry Anderson production..?
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!

think im gonna call the pilot "red falcon" & the plane "supersonic shadow fighter"

Oh, I'd say all red. Red body, wings and tail, with black nosecone, intakes, exhaust, undercariage, missiles, cockpit and wing missiles.
Of course, Red Shadows very rarely used black, it was dark grey, not that I've been able to find a decent match yet.
I can't see the red and white logo being as striking, to be honest.

I had one of those a few months ago with the same plans but sold it as it suffered the same curse as most things in making my rattlers and other air things look tiny and out of scale... It is a great model though, Id just love it if it wasnt to scale so much... Ive been thinking about getting an me262 and seeing how that would look, im thinking it might fit the shadows quite well...
