GI Joe backpacks

Anybody got any experience of backpacks that just do not fit into the plughole in the figure's back? I'd have thought Hasbro would've been quite picky about getting the sizes right...

What's the answer? Blue tack?

Error happens quite often. The only thing Hasbro is quite picky about is making profit.

The best backpack ever for me has to be the Q Force Deep Sea diver.

You have to wonder how late into product development it was that someone noticed the figure didn't have a hole in his back, so they came up with the ingenius elastic band idea.

And really, even that didn't work, as you had to put the pack on backwards.

Mind you - precedent already set for it with Series 1 pilots and their RAF issue elastic bands I guess.

I always have a problem with later Joe backpacks (87 onwards, for some reason!), although my earlier AF/Joe figures tend to be okay. Usually the peg is too big and because the plastic is naturally greasy,the pack just keeps popping out. Only hacking away with a knife fixes it.
If the peg is too small, I coat it with superglue then let it set solid (usually overnight). This makes the peg slightly bigger and it then holds in place, especially if you rough the surface a little with fine sandpaper.

my old summer job from uni I worked in a factory and the storeman there was exactly the same. And then I was put in charge of the stores when he went on holiday! It was like puttin a fat kid in charge of the sweet shop! I'm still using the drill bits now.
