Action Force without an Air Force

100% Agree, an Air Force would have looked great

I suppose that the designers could have felt that Space Force would do this role, but the Cosmic Cruiser has all the aerodynamic qualities of a brick, and any Satellite Defence Pilot attempting reentry in pusuit of an enemy would be toast!

I had a shufty around this afternoon and found some candidates for a theoretical Action Force Air Force, and for air components of the existing forces.

Dragon Fly was released for Hasbro Action Force Over here, but a couple of years earlier it would have been great for Z Force as a Recon/Attack chopper

If you keep to Wave 1 Z Force Style names youll end up with Attack Jet, Helicopter, etc . Accurate but dull,

I like the Q Force Idea of S names for vehicles, the SAS Force names were mixed, but the obvious group there was animals (Panther, Wolverine, Hawk). Following SAS Idea Birds would be the obvious choice, but most of them have already been used by real airforces.

Any Sky.... names should be avoided as they are just to GI Joeish

So how about using C names as used by British tanks:
Comet, Centurion, Challenger, Chieftan, Crusader, etc

Others (not used on tanks) could be
Cormorant (Maritime), Courier (Transport),

One possible way of creating this without invalidating the existing SAS force Airwing, would be to have the individual forces handling their own close air support and battlefield aircraft (like the Army Air Corps wishes it could) and have the Airforce operate the strategic and air superiority roles.

A possible way to create the force would be to rechristen Space Force as Aerospace Force to broaden its mission. It would then have two sections Space Force and Aero Force, the same logo could be used but with different colouration.
