Ebay Auctions

Post by SteveD »

I'm sure most have already seen, and those that are biding will not thanks me for this, but there's some auctions of some nice of the larger carded items on Ebay at the moment.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-ON-CARD-ACTIO ... tsupported

See the other items - there's a boat patrol, SAS Para & Q Force too. Unusual to see all of them up at same time.

Seperate auction for a nice Laser Exterminat boxed too - £80.

The way prices are at the minute, with folks not having much money, might be some bargains to be snapped up.

Half of them mysteriously disappeared off e-bay today. the boat patrol and three other carded figures. Same seller had a carded series one paratrooper which also disappeared before the end of auction.

All sold outside of e-bay? No ideas

Actually one other point am i the only one who doesn't like people with opened toys placing them back in the boxes in positions that imply that they are not opened. Two shadowtraks and quarrel with bike on e-bay in similar positions. Deceptive i think!

Yeah - I saw that about them disappearing. Someone has used the old "have you a buy it now in mind" query haven't they. I love it when that happens, and they post it as a question that we can all see the answer to in the listing. I've recognised the culprits a few times too!

Re the "reboxing" thing I wholeheartedly agree. That Laser Exterminator at first glance looked like a MIB. On closer look its not. Suspect the Red LAser will be out of his bubble too. I have no great aversion to stuff that has been opened, as long as it is advertised as such, and not "MIB" etc only to actually not be. I recently got done on a figure like that - advertised as "MOC with crack at the bottom of the bubble". When it arrived the "crack at the bottom of the bubble" was actually "a knife cut along the bottom and up both sides of the bubble, allowing figure to be totally removed and replaced in bubble to sell". As I'd bought it to open and customise, I wasn't too bothered, but in other circumstances I'd be well pissed.

Loads of stuff with boxes on there at moment - two APC's with boxes, Skystriker with box, Wolverine, more boxed Shadowtraks than I've ever seen in one go, few Laser Ext. I suspect none of it will make good money at moment - Xmas takes a bit of priority over collecting for most people, so I'd expect some bargains to be had. If only I had a few ££££'s spare.

Hadn't actually noticed that the mobile missile system and the laser exterminator from that seller in belgium are both opened. Bugger!

Only when i looked back at the description both of them are described as open. Despite how the picture may look. Think it is poor and misleading at the very best and more likely deliberately placed to deceive. Love the idea of the unopened toy and trying to get whatever i can in that form. Got most of the carded figures now. Well probably two thirds of them. Though have decided to limit myself solely to the toys i loved as a kid. Specifically action force wave 2.

The later cobra stuff doesn't interest me at all. I'm a z-force / shadows etc lover and nothing else. Though at some point i do hope to be able to get to work on some copies of the wonderful customs i have seen here. Have a snowcat awaiting its red incarnation asap and a crimson mobat winging it's way over here. Though that is boxed i've just noticed and not sure if i can bring myself to open it. Will see how i feel when it arrives

Oh, I started out "just" collecting series 2 MOC. And then you accidentally get a series 1 as it was "going cheap", or a cheeky series 3 as "nobody else was bidding on it". Before you know it you'll have one or two Mego figures sneak in....or maybe that's just me and my notorious lack of self control.

That is true have a MIB HAL from South America en route because it is basically the laser exterminator but its previous international version.

Can see how it expands but trying to keep a rein on it somewhat

I'm guilty as charged for one of the boat patrols and the us para.

Had them both from him for £30 each. Very nice too.

Good work fella! Perfectly legit in my books - offer, acceptance, everyones happy. Other than those who were bidding, but you snooze, you lose! (can I fit any more cliches into the posts today?)
