.

I could probably post 30 or 40 pages similar to this one, including pictures of star wars molds, prototypes, unproduced figures etc etc etc

the star wars archives are immense with similar pictures to these, literally hundreds of them !

so the point of this post ????

where are all the action force pics ??????

surely similar pics must exist of the action force range ?

the wookies are chewbaccas unproduced family from the tv special, I think the small one was called lumpy.

the fat one with the headdress is jabbas dancer, who was an unproduced concept in 1985,

however she has finally got a 2008 release !!!

I'm working on it ;)

in truth though, there is a big difference of circumstances, Star Wars was all handled and project managed through Kenner in the US, which survived the break up and continued to produce some great popular toys for the time like Real Ghostbusters and Batman Animated, The Palitoy Company got broken up in pieces, Chad Valley went to Woolworths, Airfix to Humbrol and what was left to Hasbro pretty much. The feeling was of great betrayl from the US, both against the holding group General Mills and the lack of no new Star Wars films, the company could not plug the gap with something new, so collapsed.

They pretty much destroyed or gave what was left away, who knows what else was in there, but given the line was heading to be more in line with GI JOE, it's doubtful there would have been much new UK product development or original deisgns like the Sealion/ Roboskull etc.

Just a thought, but perhaps there are so few action force prototypes because of the sheer volume of re-used parts. It would be nice to do a gallery of all the different body parts and who they ended up as!

I'm sure there are a fair few prototypes out there, but as you elude to, these are more likely to be limbs rather than figures as such.
