New G.I.Joes coming to the UK?

Post by rcm1234567 »

Some of the New G.I.Joe Figures & Vehicles may be available in the UK next year.
The following scans are from the current issue of Previews (December 2008 #243 available Feb 2009).
For those that don't know Previews is a Monthly American Catalogue that lists forthcoming Superhero, Sci-Fi & Horror etc, Comics Magazines, Books, Toys & Games etc.
These items can then be ordered in advance.
Previews is available from many British comic shops.
The first two scans are in the American section of Previews.
NB in the first two scans only some of the Items are listed as being available in the UK.
The 12 Inch Cobra Commander figure in the third scan is listed in the Previews UK section.

TRU exclusives sometimes filter through to our stores, and I've seen "Target Exclusive" Transformers in Woolworths (Pretty useless fact given the current state of that store chain), so it's possible we may get limited quantities. The Forbidden Planet chain already has some 25th waves on their site, although I don't know if they're imports or an 'official' release.

I suspect Hasbro will mainly be pushing the movie figures & vehicles here though, otherwise non-fans may get confused by all the different COBRA COMMANDERS and DUKE's that would be flying about.
Not that I mind: I'm looking forward to the movie line.

Yeah Forbidden Planet in Newcastle has had the 25th Joes for a while now, don't know if they're imports or not though. I was in London a couple of weeks ago and Forbidden Planet down there had quite a few as well.

I called in at FP Newcastle last night and off the top of my head they had:

HISS Driver
Flash
Hawk
Wild Bill
Viper
PP Cobra Trooper
Snakes Eyes (What I would know as version 3)
Spirit
Barbecue
Duke with Jet Pack
Bazooka
Gung Ho
TF Flint

and a few comic packs, a couple of weeks ago they had the Black Head Variant Destro. Don't really collect the 25th figures but there's something about seeing a Joe hanging on a peg so I ended up buying BATS and Torpedo, quite fancy Paravipers and Mutt!

If your getting them through ebay you are going to be paying well over the odds, best bet is to pre-order them from one of the retailers or get yourself onto one of the American forums and hit up some of the other members for them

American forum members are here too. ;)
Loose shipping to the UK isn't very much.

Star action figures (google it) are excellent - free shipping over £40 I think (and they accidentally added a second Snow Job into my box) and their prices are low.

Also I've bought tons of Joes from FP Newcastle, so they'll definately be getting more in!!!
