Conventions or Shops to buy stuff - a world without fee bay

Post by redrage »

Being relatively new to the collecting of action force i was wondering are there any conventions worth going to where it is possible to either get to meet other enthusiasts or otherwise buy some of the toys. live in ireland and not aware of any shops here that sell similar collectables. knew of some in the past but they all seem to have closed down.

i was in the same boat as you
if it wasnt for ebay i wouldnt have anything realy
ive seen sh*tty af figures in shops with a massive price on them, just mad
i turned to ebay to start my vintage star wars collection then on to action force
never had the chance to go to a convention

A world without Feebay???? But then we'd all have full wallets? And Royal Mail would be bankrupt? that'd be no fun at all.

you'll be doing well if you find anywhere like that on this island, best bet are markets, car boot sales, estate auctions and collectible meets, picked up a red laser at a diecast fair once. Some comic shops will keep a certain range of vintage figures, more likely to be starwars though.

Also keep an eye on classified ads and your ear to the ground.

We're off car-booting on Sunday to see if we can find any figures; the obsession seems to be gaining pace in our household, I fear I may be encouraging my other half a bit too much... Second package of figures and vehicles arrived today and I've been and bought some storage containers to keep them in.

Spent my whole lunch hour yesterday trawling round our numerous charity shops looking for AF figures, I've never seen so many abused Barbies in my life

That'll be the Wampa abusing them, I'm sure. He's a frisky one!

I was always surprised Barbie never dumped Ken for Action Man. Surely she'd find his rugged manlyness and scars impossible to resist compared to Ken's wimpyness and perfect hair?

Maybe I should get back to doing some work?

poor old Ken, there's so many limitations when your genitals are poorly moulded plastic....

back on topic ;) does anyone have much success with car boot sales for AF stuff?
