How do you view Skeletron, Character or trooper??

Post by chad_ghost »

what do you think. he seemed more like a trooper to me until i was reading a thread about him yesterday.
since there is really no background story on him i was wanting to see your guys thoughts.

i was talking to my brother and his thoughts were pretty good on this:
"All the other mail-ins were characters"
such as AF Commander & later Grunt

so this brings me back to my previous question, Character or Trooper?

let me know what you think!

Well the mail in for Grunt also was for a Trooper, as while the figure in the US was called Grunt, the adverts for the figure labelled him as "Action Force Trooper".

As for Skeletron I view it as a trooper, a nude Muton really without the clothing and heavy headpiece. I'd say it was designed as a shock trooper, afterall I wouldn't want to have to fight a unit of nearly unstoppable (one has to assume they were created using same/similar technology to the Muton's) robot skeletons. Would creep me out!
There are really only two possibilities: Either there is life in the universe more intelligent than us, or we are the most intelligent form of life in the universe. Either way, it's a pretty worrying thought!

I use my Skeletron as a character rather than a troop builder. I like the idea of the Kraken being troop builders because, essentially, they are clones of the original found in the arctic ice. Skeletron, in my universe, is a major upgrade in the Red Shadows robot program. Unlike the Mutons who are the Red Shadows equivalent of Cobra Bats, Skeletron has independent thought and tactical programming which allows him to serve as a field commander or, even better, a tactical genius who can tap into any computer system and analyze his enemies movements. It would have been very expensive to create an android such as Skeletron and, with the rebuilding of the Red Shadows organization, money could be put to better use elsewhere. I like the idea of Skeletron being a Terminator-style character who has detailed files on everyone around him and, as such, can manipulate any situation to his favor.
