BFTB may experience some turmoil this week while I transfer the URL from Fortune City to my webhosts Streamlinenet.

Why are you doing that, then, Jim?

Well, I'll show you:

Hello,

I have just received a telephone call from Randy, who has advised me to contact you.

Please may I have the Authorisation code to point Name Servers elsewhere?

There has been an error made somewhere, as I use streamlinet for my webspace.

Thanks, Jim.

Hi,

Randy definitely told me to ask you for a code. I have followed your instructions, but am unable to changes the nameservers because (I quote):

This domain has been locked, which prevents any updates to the nameservers.
If you want to update the nameservers, please unlock the domain first.

Is this what Randy was referring to?

Please advise,

Jim.

Hello James,

Thank you for your email. If you want zoidstar.com to point to zoidstar.bloodforthebaron.com, our system requires that you have a Domain Pointing service, also called Domain Forwarding or URL Masking. This service is not included free with domain registration, but due to an error in our system you were getting the service without paying for it. I believe our Billing team should have explained this to you and also explained that now that we are aware of this error we are not able to continue providing this paid service free of charge. If you want to reactivate this service please contact our Billing team (phone 1-866-638-2489 or email billing@fortunecityhosting.com) to set that up again.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please let us know.

Hi,

I have been forwarded on to you from Sarah at DNS. I have the domain http://www.zoidstar.com registered with Fortune City.

I would like it to point to one of my sub-domains on my streamlinenet webspace, the URL is http://www.zoidstar.bloodforthebaron.com. I have been informed that to do this I need to purchase your Domain Pointing service. Is this correct?

If so, please could you tell me how much this service costs, and also whether or not it features a URL mask?

Thank you,

Jim.

Hi Sarah,

I have purchased the Domain Pointing as you advise, but have been sent an invoice for $0.00.

I e-mailed your department asking for the URL http://www.zoidstar.com to point to my http://www.streamline.net sub-domain http://www.zoidstar.bloodforthebaron.com, and for the URL mask to be activated, as I am unable to successfully log in the on-site FTP.

The result is that http://www.zoidstar.com has now become a dead link.

Please could you investigate?

Hi,

My domain pointing service is not working. I have the URL http://www.zoidstar.com registerd with you, and have just purchased the domain pointing service.

I have logged in to the on-site FTP and directed it to point to my streamline.net sub-domain http://www.zoidstar.bloodforthebaron.com/ and ticked the pointed URL to show in the Address/Location Bar.

I have set my primary and secondary nameservers as ns1.streamlinedns.co.uk and ns2.streamlinedns.co.uk, respectively, yet when I go to the URL all I get is http://www.zoidstar.com could not be found.

Please could you investigate, and if possible, sort it out for me?

I am concerned though, as the invoice you sent me for the domain pointing I purchased on the 31st of August was for $0.00 - no money has been talen from my account.

Could this be a factor?

I used to have this set up perfectly, through you. It was only when you realised that I had accidentally been given domain forwarding free of charge that it was taken down. So I purchased domain forwarding, as requested, and now you can't make it work.

Why are you sending me a bill for $0.82 when the package costs $9.99?

This follows your previous invoice for the same package, marked as paid, for the amount of $0.00.

Meanwhile, DNS and Hosting are having a nightmare trying to get the domain pointing to work properly. Is this thing active or not?

Hi,

I have forwarded this on to my webhost as streamlinenet - they have rpleied with this:

"Thank you for your query. Unfortunately we do not support the configuration of DNS Zone Records, this includes A, CNAME, MX and PTR records. Apologies for any inconvenience."

What do I do now?

I do not understand the problem. I used to have this working excatly as I have described. I had my URL http:///www.zoidstar.com, purchased through you, pointing at my streamlinenet domain http:///www.zoidstar.bloodforthebaron.com/index.html with an active URL mask.

I was suddenly informed that I had been given this service in error, and needed to purchase the Domain Pointing Package for $9.99 to continue receiving this service.

I have purchased the Domain Pointing Package, as instricted, and now nobody knows how to make it work. I have inputted the correct DNS settings and Domain Pointing fields, which should be enough.

I have now been contacted by your Billing Department, who tell me that my credit card details are incorrect, and that my payment is past due. My credit card are 100% correct, and always have been.

To add to the confusion, I was initially sent an inoivce for $0.00, and they are now billing me for $0.82. I find this strange as the Domain Pointing Package is $9.99

I have $9.99 worth of credit on my credit card.

Certainly. Here it is again.

Hi,

I have forwarded this on to my webhost as streamlinenet - they have replied with this:

"Thank you for your query. Unfortunately we do not support the configuration of DNS Zone Records, this includes A, CNAME, MX and PTR records. Apologies for any inconvenience."

What do I do now?

I do not understand the problem. I used to have this working exactly as I have described.

My credit card details are 100% correct, and always have been.

To add to the confusion, I was initially sent an inoivce for $0.00, and they are now billing me for $0.82. I find this strange as the Domain Pointing Package is $9.99

I have $9.99 worth of credit on my credit card.

What are you playing at?

James Marshall.

I have two URLs registered with them: http://www.bloodforthebaron.com and http://www.zoidstar.com. My mother also has ****** with them.

Is it possible to transfer ownership of these 3 URLs to my Streamline.net account? I would want http://www.bloodforthebaron.com to point to my main website, and Zoidstar and ******, to point to their respective sub-domains.

Is that possible, and if so, please may I have a quote for doing so?

StreamlineNet wrote:Hi James Marshall,

Thank you for your query

You can use your .com with your hosting package by changing the DNS settings with your previous provider to ns1.streamlinedns.co.uk and ns2.streamlinedns.co.uk.

Alternatively you can initiate a full domain transfer request. This costs £15.00 + VAT and includes an additional years registration. We would then control the renewal of the domain. If you require the full domain transfer, please ensure your domain is unlocked with your previous provider before the transfer is initiated.

You can initiate the transfer via the Domain Overview page relating to the domain that you would like to transfer.

You can access the Domain Overview via the Hosting & Domains page in this account control panel.
