Andy's Wave one custom ( something a little different )

Post by Andy1672 »

I was always a fan of the original wave figures. I thought the first few figures palitoy produced were fantastic ( just like mini action men )

I always wanted to create more figures for this "historical" line to fit in with the original concept of Action Force.

A lot of figures I have customised in the past dont seem to be different enough, and I usually end up using the body parts again for other projects.

So with this one I tried to make a figure that stood out and was just something a little different.

So here is my French Foreign legion soldier.

Andy, that's a great, different, angle that you're coming from with this custom!

Very interesting and clever. It fits in really well.

Please show us more of your custom work fella!

Cheers Paul, I stopped buying Action Force when they introduced the Jointed figures.

I remember my Mam bought me the Z force battletank and the SAS Wolverine and I was devastated with the figures included. If I remember rightly Stalker and Steeler were traded with one of my mates for a mail away Z force Commander.

And to this day I still refuse to include any jointed figures in my collection, So I suppose customising is the only way to keep the original Action Force alive ?

Inspired! What a great concept, that's just opened a floodgate for customising ideas! Fantastic figure, as well!

Wow!

thanks guys, I am currently surfing through Palitoy "Action man" catalogs looking for inspiration.

The trouble is a lot of the uniforms are either camoflage or khaki and I think they are all a bit too samey. I do have a couple of ideas though, possibly a british RAF pilot or a german panzer commander. still searching, so wish me luck !!!

If you wanted to make up a filecard or something, there's a very similar looking pic on the Barracuda Datafile.

Not to mention the Major Bludd stories...

I know little about Action Man, were they many historical designs, eg Napoleonic era?

I find this website a great source for reference, you can skip through all the old palitoy catalogs

just click on "equipment manuals" at the top of the page to see the entire action man range, the first few are a bit rubbish but the later ones are fantastic !!!

http://www.actionmanhq.co.uk/frameset/frameset.html

there is also an incomplete gallery of uniforms....
