Action Force the computer game
Did anyone actually remember playing the computer game back in the eighties?
I had a commodore vic 20 back then, not powerful enough to ring the doorbell, let alone run a complex game with moving pixels!

If they could remake an A.F game, what would be better......
A first person shooter ...infiltrating cobra bases and commandeering vehicles
or a strategy game ike command and conquer... building bases and forces and taking each other out.
I`d prefer the latter. A Squadron of Skystrikers would be soooo cool

For me a Command & Conquer style game any day.
As soon as I started reading this thread the images I had in my head were of hundreds of shadows being butchered trying to storm the Z Force base, and Squadrons of Skystrikers kicking ass! Now that would be ace!

Re: Action Force the computer game
I wonder if there's anyone out there who could mod a game into a Action Force based storyline (I know eventually they'll be a GI Joe when movie comes out but naturally you gotta have The Shadows Baron etc.. Seems like a really ripe concept .. as for original game it was kinda Space Invadersesque with a Giant Cobra as far as I remember I bet it's on Youtube somewhere
Re: Action Force the computer game
Do you not think Command and Conquer has a lot of similarities to our AF world? Nod (dressed in red uniforms) lead by Kane a fanatic who poses as a God like character. Nod being a terrorist organisation with almost religious following. I think there are a lot of similarities, some one on the original EA games design team must have been an AF Fan!
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?
Re: Action Force the computer game
I had Action Force on the Amstrad CPC 464, ahhh.... the memories, I think I might still have it stored away at my parents house somewhere.
Actually I think the game was a bit pants if I remember rightly.

Re: Action Force the computer game
There is a resemblance, but prolly coincidence. Bottom line every good vs. evil game is the same: good gets to wear cool military gear, bad is dressed up for carnival.paul463 wrote:some one on the original EA games design team must have been an AF Fan!

Darth Vader wears a bucket on his head, so Lucas was originally an AF fan?

A while ago I dug up my old CBM64 to see my old 'über cool' games. Among them were: Platoon, Commando, Who dares wins, Rambo, Beach Head I & II, Mission Impossible, GI Joe. In Platoon the tunnel phase (3D 1st person view, really wow in 1987) scared me to f*ck as a teenager. GI Joe was so cool to control the Mobat using two joysticks. When I was a kid these games looked so realistic and were so intense.Destro wrote:I think I might still have it stored away at my parents house somewhere.
Geeeeez, 25 years later it all really looks bollocks.
My advice: do not turn the computer on! Keep your memories the way they are!

I thought the Batman game for the Tim Burton movie was the greatest game ever, but good advice, I'm sure now I'd play it for 1 minute and think "I liked this s**t?"Lady Jaye wrote:A while ago I dug up my old CBM64 to see my old 'über cool' games.
