Battle Comic Action Force Figure Giveaway
Battle Comic Action Force Figure Giveaway
In the run up to Battle Action Force being introduced, and Action force as a toyline, a number of comics, including Battle itself, gave away free figures.
Does anyone know the date of the comic, and can anyone confirm what figures they had?
I know I had an SAS Squad Leader and the SAS Frogman.
My mum bought at least two comics, but I'd swear she went back for more!
They did it again in 1984 (issues of Eagle, BAF, and Tiger all dated July 14th - see here http://starlogged.blogspot.co.uk/2013/0 ... t-ipc.html).
But I want to know the date of the original giveaway. Anyone, any information?

I've got an Eagle MISB with Black Major and a BAF MISB with Z-Force Radio Operator. I'll check the issues for you.

Excellent stuff, chaps!
So we have at least four figures for the 1984 free figures.
But what about the 1983 version?
Was there a 1983 giveaway? Or am I completely mis-remembering, confusing it with the 1984? I'm sure there was...

In 84 I got Eagle, Breaker, Skip and Tracker. Near every free giveaway never happened in New Zealand, but for some reason this one did and it siphoned all my pocket money.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

Lovely pics Jonesy! An issue or two of BAF or eagle with the free figure remain one of the few items I've not got yet that I want!

I'd offer up my left nut for one.

Don't say that... apparently Jonesy has quite a testicular collection going and he may well take you up on the offer!Chopper wrote:I'd offer up my left nut for one.
Still trying to track down the seemingly imaginary 1983 giveaway, and oddly enough, I have just read a blog post from a Kiwi talking about the 1984 giveaway and how cool it was. Here, have a read
