So the package I received this morning, the one with Z-Force Commander Type 2, also had a bunch of other figures with it. Including a Stake-Out.
Doing what I always do, I checked it against all my other figures, and... well, he's not like the others!
So far we know of 2 variants for Stakeout - Plain Trousers (T1) & Pocketed Trousers (T2). It had been assumed that T1 had a round 'open hand' and that T2 had a flat 'closed' hand (see, for example, the archive).
My chap, has Plain Trousers and a flat 'closed' hand. He is, therefore, new! (a Type 3, no less!)
Now, this seems to be the same as the Commandos. The four Types are shown in Photo 2 - flat hand and open hand in both types of trousers.
In Photo 3 have done a mock up mirroring Photo 2 but showing the Stake-Outs instead - New guy is in the middle. But, can you see what's missing? Another figure... I therefore hypothesise another, fourth, variant, correlating to the Type 2 of the Commandos - He will have Pocketed Trousers and a Flat Hand.
Thus, we now have 4 Types of Stake-Out:
Type 1 - Flat Trousers, Round Open Hand
Type 2 - Pocketed Trousers, Round Open Hand
Type 3 - Flat Trousers, Flat Closed Hand
Type 4 - Pocketed Trousers, Flat Closed Hand
Enjoy!

Re: SAS Stake-Out - New Variant(s)
I got a full black 'soft handed' Stakeout as a freebie in a IPC mag. Probably Battle but maybe Eagle.
