Tamiya Battle King

Post by Thundershot »

Hi folks,
I've Just finished building a model tank & am very pleased with the end result :-):

It's Tamiya's 1:35th scale model with a paint job inspired by the old Matchbox Battle Kings K-103 Chieftain Tank diecast toy.

I haven't done any serious model making for years so, rather than attempt a poorly executed realistic style finish, I decided upon a simple 'toy like' appearance using car paint spray paints.

Here's the Matchbox version, I've long been a fan of the Chieftain tank & the metallic green's a nice colour which suits its lines:

Cheers &, once again, thanks for viewing

Good effort mate ;)
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

That is an impressive effort, Ed. One of my favorite tanks too.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

Thanks guys :-)

I was half tempted to add some :zforce: badges ;-)
This was always intended as a fun holiday project intended to divert me from gadding about & spending money before RORC :-D

I did build one other model earlier this year, a vintage Matchbox kit, which was a pure nostalgia trip ...
