Holy Texts for sale (BAF comics)
Holy Texts for sale (BAF comics)
I'm talking about the complete set, all 165 weekly issues of Battle Action Force that ran from 8th October 1983 until 29th November 1986 published by IPC Magazines ltd.
Featuring some of the best war stories of the era such as Charley's War, Johnny Red, The Nightmare, and of course the titular Action Force. All were written and drawn by some of the greatest writers and artists of their generation.
Read about the fascinating journey of how Baron Ironblood of the Red Shadows became Cobra Commander of Cobra; Battle Action Force should be on the must-haves list of any American collector interested in international GI Joe items.
The comics themselves are in good condition overall. They are probably about as good as you're going to be able to find them. There is a house address pencilled or penned on the front cover, (this was standard practice at local Newsagents back in the day). They have no missing pages, there may be a little tear or crease here or there but nothing majorly bad. There are none of the free gifts present such as the sticker sheets, Heinz badges or pull-out posters, but all the souvenir posters, etc are intact.
I'm asking for just £99 for the lot. (that's $165 US). That works out at only 60 pence or $1 per comic. BARGAIN! That price does not include postage which I will find out for you. Will post Worldwide. All of these comics weigh a few kilos/pounds so if you happen to live in the local area, I will consider delivering them myself.
Why mess about on Ebay when you can get them all in one go? I've done the hard work so you can just sit back and enjoy reading them.
PM me if interested and I will get back to you asap.
cheers,
firefight.

Pfft. I threw all mine out a few years ago. I still sob at night.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

Unfortunately I've just dropped several hundred ££ on some new bits from the US, this kind of thing always happens a day or so after I've skinted myselffirefight wrote:Thank you for your support Steven.SteveD wrote:Bargain!! I'm not knocking him (I'd nok his hot new girl up though) as I bet they are much more convenient to read but it's not quite the same is it. The feel and weight of the paper in your hands, the 30 years of vintageness, the hilariously bad artwork fresh faced kids had sent in to the members page, the Weetabix adverts, you are missing out on all the cultural nuances of the time.
I'll still respect you Graham, whatever your decision , (though others on this site may question your collector credentials if you decide not to purchase them.)

Re: Holy Texts for sale (BAF comics)
I purchased some vintage 1970s Razzle magazines from Firefight once and most of the pages were stuck together. I hope these magazines are in better order?
Not here for a long time, just here for a good time.
Re: Holy Texts for sale (BAF comics)
No problem Graham, I'll probably still have them for months waiting here unsold anyway especially as Mr. wolf "smut pedlar" forrest has just spoiled my sales pitch.
Get your gob out of my spares thread gump stain.
I was making a serious professional sales attempt, even catering to potential well-heeled American clientele. What are they going to think now huh?
Give him a warning The Baron, and could you take that picture down.. well you can leave it up for another 5 minutes..er..as an example of what isn't acceptable behaviour in other peoples' threads.
