Skystriker Gatling Gun

I'm restoring an old Skystriker and the gatling gun needs replacing. Any tips on how to remove the old one? It seems pretty well stuck in there and I don't want to damage the slot.

Maybe a hair dryer to heat the glue? Mine pulled out without any damage although you can see where it was stuck, after it had been glued back in you'd never know
