Whats the rarest Action Force Item??

Post by Fireant »

Hiya all action force collectors. I been a collector of Action Force scince the early 80's when I was about five. Scince the mid 90's i've been looking for rare items to finish my collection. On the whole the mine sweeper is quite pricey and my two fave figures "Jammer & Gaucho". Now figures MLC I would say that the green walki-talkie that comes with Firefly is also quite rare.

What would you say is the number one rare item?

I reckon the single rarest item is the antennae for the hatch on the Z Force APC. This would be closely followed by the towrope for the SAS Force Wolverine.

Yeah, I'd agree. Another is the Swordfish Torpedo Clip

Antenna Z-Force APC, complete Minesweeper, swivel Dolphin, swivel Moondancer

There are other items I've only ever seen on a single image, but never seen for sale, or spoken to someone who has them. These are:

The green variant of Gung-Ho's bergan, which Gaucho has.

Version 1 of Jammer:

A carded Scout seems to go for big money, but I've got a handful of them complete over several purchases. It's funny, I never considered him rare as there were as many of him as there were of other figures in the little toy shop I used as a child. However, nowhere in Scotland seemed to have the Doc figure. I even wrote to Hamley's of Regent Street asking if they had him (they claimed to be the UK's biggest toy shop back in those days, and the internet was still a DoD project), but no luck - although I've still got the letter they sent in reply.

On another note, I was trying to get a Q Force Sealion earlier this year, as I was collecting the full Q Force set, which I did not have as a child. I saw one for sale on Ebay, unopened packaging, ?22 in total. I bought it, only to realise that it was an AF one. Wrong stickers, wrong figure for me, but apparently a bit of a bargain as I've had some ridiculous offers from collectors in the US for it.

APC antenna - agreed, Wolverine tow rope - agreed, Blades' badge - agreed. Also: a Black Major who can hold his gun.

The Sealion torpedo thing can be fairly hard to acquire too. Are the swivel Dolphin and Moondancer from before the transition to AF-Cobra?

Only saw a couple of :scout: and :doc: back in the good old days. The transition to Cobra put paid to dreams of finding them in all good toy shops. Shucks I thought. Bought 'em whole last year, hurrah.

Also - :chopper: 's gun and ammo box. The gun never really fitted his hand, neither the ammo box which could at least repose permanently in the laccy band around his waist...

That Browning had a particularly peculiar way of always getting lost in the confusion of each battle precipitating much careful carpet-combing...

I'd have to say the mountain and artic figure pictured on the back of the early cards, as it came out as artic assualt and a completly different outfit.

so I think the only example of the original figure is the one in the pic
