Does any one else collect the old Airfix "poly" soldiers here, or am I the only one ?
Not that I've got hundreds (yet) but I've been trying to collect one pose from each of the W.W.2 & modern 1/32nd scale sets, got most now the officers are the rarest to find, as you only got 1 or 2 in a box!

"poly"? My brother and me used to get both scale Airfix soldiers then others as competitors brought out their own sets.

Yeah.. "Poly" as in Polythene, the type of plastic they are made from.
Matchbox made some ace plastic toy soldiers as well, much better than some Airfix ones in a lot of casses.
The Italieri soldiers were great they gave you more soldiers than airfix and more accessories

This music used to freak as a kid @ school
One tale stands out in my memory, of a guy carving an Indian brave(?) in a canoe out of wood & watching the toy's adventures as it sailed the rivers & seas of the world, being repaired by a kindly stranger &, I think,m finding it's way back to the man who originally made it.

These ones scared me, but I watched them anyway.
Can't find the theme to this one, but you get the idea.
