my dad was pretty cool really, i've got 5 older sisters and no brothers so mum and dad would get me all the toys a boy could want, i was happy because i had so much to play with the folks were happy as i was always in my room the only time i left was to go to training.

Being a only child I just can't imagine what it's like to have 5 sisters (or brothers for that mater) @ all..how did you cope with so many girls in one house eddie?

i had a fair amount of toys, but i was taught to value what i had and to not be a whiny snot when i wanted stuff. me mum wouldn't know a Viper from a Stunticon...

i ignored them for the best part something i still do to this day. All i've ever got from them is how unfair it is that i've always had money and they've had to struggle so i gave up a long time ago. They forget i had to work for it. I only speak to one of my sisters now it's quite sad really.

Golden child syndrome, Eddie? My sister is the same. She got more than I did in retrospect. We don't talk much, I had it easy yada, yada. I'm not exactly rolling in it either. I work my butt off for what I have, scrimp and save and I appreciate what I've got.

yeah your probably right with that. But as a child dad made me work for my pocket money no free cash where he was concerned. I had the paper round and i also worked with dad with his gardening round during the summer holidays and i worked in the local pub as a sticker upper, for those that don't know it's for the game of skittles i'd be down at the end of the alley putting the pins back up and rolling the skittle balls back down, i would get a fiver a night for that, so with the other bits i was earning about £50 a week when i was 12 of which i saved most, i learnt the value of work from a young age i never really socialised as i child i was too busy i went to rugby with the school twice a week and once at the local club that was basically my fun time, god that sounds depressing.

Nah mate, I know what you mean. I'd help Dad on the Farm, make some (little) cash, the rest of the time I'd be off shooting (or playing Action Man) I worked for it and my Sister still thinks I got the better end of the stick. She was just lazy, that's all and wanted it handed to her on a plater. My wife reckons my folks think I can do no wrong mind you. I sorted that out, told them of the midnight sorties out the bedroom window etc, pinching booze, making explosives..... ah happy days. They were pretty good really.
