fools and horses does indeed rule. especially the winebar one.

it depends what criteria you're using though. OF&H is certainly one of the best ever comedies, but DS9 is drama. (although, Trials and Tribs is a comedic episode and the best comedic ep)

*shrugs*

drama wise, some of my favourite episodes of TV shows are:

Trials and Tribble-ations (DS9)
In the Pale Moonlight (DS9)
The Best of Both Worlds (pts 1 and 2) (TNG)
Once More With Feeling (Buffy)
Not Fade Away (Angel)
The Body (Buffy)
All the Time in the World (Alias)
Something Worth Fighting For (parts 1 and 2) (Robin Hood)
Company Man (Heroes)
Five Years Gone (Heroes)
How to Stop and Exploding Man (Heroes)
In A Mirror, Darkly (parts 1 and 2) (Enterprise)

im talking tv series of all kind, period.
although not a fan of DS9 & NG, i can appreciate them, angel i actually really like, buffy i can just about deal with........
but heroes is sooooooo bad, it's like someone who never read a comic book decided to try & cash in, & robin hood? tried to watch it...... is it my imagination, or does he wear an actual hoodie? like a modern one? is it robin hoodie? does he now mug old ladies & steal mobiles?

am almost thru with U.S. office season 5 & it is ridiculously funny!

O.F & H got to sappy & sentimental, for me,in the later episodes...all that"I love you ya plonker" tosh. The earlier 1/2 hour episodes sre the best ones, the ones with grandad in them...they were still fresh feeling, with a comic bite to 'em.

One of John Sullivan's best ceations has to be Dear John, a series with bitter sweet laughs..

yes, he does wear a hoodie. no, he doesn't mug old ladies and steal mobiles.

and, you're pretty much right about Heroes' creator.

I see the beginnings of a modern Robin Hood there Ross with Robbin Hoodie and Little Chav and their "merry" band it would be great.

"When things were Rotten" was the best Robin Hood show ;-)
