this series ROCKS i am sooo enjoying it, its soo depressing to see it end with issue 7, stupid hasbro !

I always thought gi joe should be a universe and not a single comic

and this was a step in that direction but sadly hasbro said yes and then 5 issues into the series they say END IT with issue 7

drawings reminded me of burce lee for strom shadow

its a fun stand alone issue, not too deep just fun

I didn't know they were ending Storm Shadow. How come? Any reasons given?

na that is not the reason, the reason is ( and this is coming from Larry himself and later confirmed by the Devils Due staff )

Hasbro went back on thier aggreeement and hasbor told Devils Due to cancel it after 7 issues

doesnt make sense at all

I can never understand how series get axed midway (and I'm thinking of TV shows here too*). Aren't these contracts signed in advance?

what a surpise hasbro breacking a aggreement
so are DDP going to keep doing the joe comics or has someone else
going to do them..

Devils Dues current contract does indeed end in about 7-8 months time

they are pursuing the title and hope to keep it but its up for grabs so everyone will be pitching thier sales pitch so we could get a different publisher doing gi joe next year at this time for sure

so part of what you heard is true

its just not the reason Storm shadow got cancelled,

larry and ddp answered the question several times in response to fans asking if it was due to sales

they said it wasnt due to sales but due to a hasbro mandate!

speculation is rampant but the most commonly accepted reason fans have come up with is-----------the movie

they dont want to confuse people on SS as many people remember him as bad guy

personally I think this is a bad move on hasbro parts

As I said before GI JOE is so big and so diverse it should be its own comic universe.

this book was a step in that direction and was actually making it, 85% or more of the main titles sales numbers was a really good thing

I also think that the people who remember Storm shadow as a bad guy certtainly dont remember him as Tommy arashikage so a simple switch aroo in the comic with azaki suromo would give us a evil storm shadow and would allow this book to continue along with some great drama, that is if hasbro soooooo wants a evil storm shadow, which is appears they do.

again gi joe should be a comic universe in the vein of DC and Marvel

for example

Avengers / Justice leauge---- GI JOE AMERICAS ELITE ( cobra based baddies)

Wolverine /Batman/ ect----- Storm shadow and other characters ( everyone is ok as enemies and guest appearances )

Avengers UK-------- ACTION FORCE / EUROPEAN MISSIONS ( red shadows as the main enemy)

and I believe there should be some kind of Police type book featuring the DEF and the SWAT guys shockwave widescope and the new sigma six swat guy ( dreadnocks headhunters ect ect as the main enemy )

and a special missions and occasional declassified story switching month to month is a must too

too bad as this move by hasbro just killed any chance of that
