Holy crap, mine too!
Got that, possibly for Christmas and just loved it. Then I got a Naval Assault and a SAS figure
Then, as an avid, albeit sporadic, Battle comic reader, I noticed Action Force was arriving, complete with giveaway figure on the front a few weeks before it became BAF.
My mum got me about four copies of that issue for the free figures - SAS Squad Leader and SAS Frogman. Then I went mental for Action Force, and never looked back!
My first figure I bought from the Action Force range was probably either Red Shadow or Baron Ironblood, or possibly both together?

My first VAM was the Desert Rat Commander chappie, with eagle eyes and a pull cord that spoke
"advance in single file" and other such appropriate phrases. He was cool, but I never really got into Action Man in anything like the way I did AF.
If we are doing childhood memories, one of the happiest was sitting in my parent's bed on Christmas day morning reading the Battle Action Force annual and surrounded by a few figures. Bliss.

one of my favourite moments as a young fella was a mid eighties christmas when amongst other things i had some star wars toys AT-ST and a few figures, ton-up and wolverine (i wish i knew and kept it nice) and a few figures and the Galoob A-Team Van with the carded A-Team and Baddies sets, que child imagination cross over madness!! a Victor annual and a couple of highland toffee bars and i was nearly in heaven.

having 5 older sisters i had my own room and peace and quiet life was peachy.

Oh yeah, I used to sit on the carpet in the middle of the room with my paisly Jama's on, playing Lego, Star Wars, Vam or AF/Joe on a rainy day. I used to love going into the toy shop in Taupo and just stare at the orange Action Man display. Remember, in New Zealand 3 3/4" was orange and Action man too. ;-) See the pic above for what I mean. I remember going to the store once and they had a USS Flagg all loaded up. My eyes shot out on stalks. I HAVE to have one, that's the goal after the rest is sorted.

You feller's probably had it good in the UK, NZ had a mongrel protectionist Govt that protected us from all the good sh*t being imported. Action Man cost a fortune.

The greatest thing about AF/VAM is I can look at it and STILL get that feeling of awesomeness.

You've reached mass capacity for 'Nostalgia' and triggered your Alien implant. Now the Aliens will siphon off your 'Nostalgia' and use it to power their particle accelerators which in turn will power a 400ft long Vibrator used to pleasure their Queen.
