The Bajoran coup story is a three parter, I think the last one of season one and the first two of season three. The Ryker episode is defintiely from season three as it has the Defiant in it. It's the one that reveals the Obsidian Order's secret shipyards...

Lets not forget all the alternate universe eps, and my absolute favourite "Trials and Tribilations"

The Baron wrote:The story doesn't really pick up until season three (although one and two are essential background development), seasons four to seven are nonstop action. It's my favourite Trek by a mile.

just watched the final episodes of DS9 a couple of days ago and had forgotten just how good ds9 really was.

the last few seasons are completly mind blowing and the ending came outta nowhere and blew me away.

not only the best trek but 1 of the best sci-fi/tv shows ever.

gonna have to get these on dvd at some stage.

How many series of DS9 were there then? And are they relatively easy to get into for someone like me who never followed the later Treks in any great detail - I just dropped into and out of it? Based on Bills review there I really rather fancy starting to watch them!

The standard seven seasons bar the original series and Enterprise Steve. I haven't watched too much Next generation myself but there is little to do with it despite being in the same Quadrant and Stardates. I think only Q,Worf, the O'Briens, Klingon politics and Bajoran-Cardassian conflicts are taken from Next Gen.

It's seven seasons, but you can't dip in and out, there's an ongoing plot with a beginning, middle and an end. Many of the unfinished storylines from TNG crop up, re the Klingons and Cardassians and the opening episode starts with a flashback to the battle of Wolf 359 from the Borg episode. It also sets the scene for the Voyager crew premise, but you can safely watch DS9 without watching either.

Sounds like a bit of a major commitment to start watching! I'd best put it on hold for the time being!
