IMperial Guard's nothing like the ST novel. in the ST novel they use freaking big mechs. the movie Starship Troopers, do look like Cadian Shock Troopers, i'll grant you.

It borrows the idea of power armour and space marines from Starship Troopers, but a lot of the other stuff has more roots in fantasy than sci-fi. But granted a lot of the aliens are rip offs of countless films or TV series.
