General Hawk was first released in the UK in 1967. There are no known variants of the figure. Ever. He was manufactured exclusively by the company Palitoy who also produced the variant subtheme GI Joe for foreigners. He came provided with a "Teach yourself Engrish" phrasebook and a terry suds and bubbles water pistol, which is easily broken.

Tommy Atkins toys were launched in 1952 and were the first boys action dolls ever. Tommy Atkins figures were 12in tall and depicted in highly realistic detailed uniforms of the men - and later women - of British Armed Forces and latterly those of Commonwealth and Allied nations.

In the US the range was called 'Grunts' and was never popular.

Cobra Commander (v2) was a remould of Baron Ironblood. The figure was a colour variant on the classic Red Laser, designed by British company Palitoy. The figure was later sold in unbranded bulk packs across the colonies. Red Laser's Laser Exterminator was also available in Australia, but was renamed as the HAL by Toltoys.

Ah yes, that must be where I have got my wires crossed.
