someone at work put me forward for an NVQ, had two people phone up to talk to me about it - 'oh, we understand you've expressed an interest...' uh, no. i didn't. first i knew was when the manager told me i was doing it, with no consultation. so i said not interested.

nvqs arent worth it.
soooooooooo much work for a mickeymouse qualification.
was told once i finish it i would be put forward for a trainee-ship degree course which would be totally funded and i would get a bursery of £16k+ a year for the 3 years plus i could work overtime as well so theoretically i would be making more as a student than someone with the degree. found out a couple of months ago that the uni that offers the traineeship dosent recognise the nvq qualification so would have to do an access course on top of it???
whats the effin point????

Sadly NVQ's aren't really recognized as being a worthwhile qualification, I did one in auto-cad and it wasn't worth it, in the end I was sent on an HND finished the course past with flying colours then got made redundant within 2 months,

Hope it all goes well Paul.

The 2 weeks of intensive training I went though, for my class 2 lorry test, was the hardest I've ever worked for any thing in my life.

Try doing the accoutancy qualifications, now they can redefine boring, plus they ar really hard too. But I break the mould and am an interesting, witty, colourful and fun accountant.

I passed! The exam was a swine and finished last in the class with 89%! So that's a qualification with explosives (or bang as the instructor calls it) now. Spent a lovely afternoon at the Museum to get over it.

Thanks for all the encouragement I needed it :)
