agreed, if postage is too high i dont bid.
the high postage may have put other bidders off hence the low cost of the figs

the enemy muton wrote:Yeah, the price per figure was £2.99 postage, which is reasonable enough if it is being sent 1st class recorded which is what I do. However, if someone bought one or two extra figures off me I would not charge any extra for postage as I feel it does not add much more to the price of postage. To charge an extra £2.10 for one more figure is what I feel a bit hard done by. Normally I would have emailed first for a combined price, but the auctions only had literally 90 seconds left when I saw them and decided to bid so never really had a chance.
In this case it is not what you would do, it is what you can read in the auction. Every seller is allowed to have his own terms of sale. If you don't like it, then don't bid. To some sellers P&P is more than just a stamp, some consider packaging and petrol to be part of P&P. The P&P was stated in the auction and you placed a bid, thus agreeing with the terms of sale.

I am not saying it is fair trade, but it is what you could have expected.

If you feel postage is completely out of order you can contact eBay. Some sellers try to make an extra pound by having extortionate shipping.

If the auction does not state: "I combine shipping", then indeed you can expect shipping to be 2.99 per figure. Again, I am not saying that is fair trading.

Is it too late to request a combined total from the seller?
I've tried this with some success in the past.

Sadly you do need to read the terms and conditions carefully, if they... as Jaye so rightly said do not combine shipping then you leave yourself open to what is essentially a con,

That is the combined postage, sadly - a grand total of 98p knocked of. Ah well, it looks like I'll just have to take it on the chin and be more careful in future (and not buy anything else from this seller).

If the seller intends to sell more it is a foolish act on his behalf as he has obviously just made sure his highest bidder on this occasion will not be conducting any business with himself in the future.

I would still feel the opportunity to query his costs is still there, if he cannot give a civil and reasonable answer then your better off not dealing with him in the future anyway.

Think I'm getting stung too. I've just been quoted £8 for 4 figures for standard 1st Class post. Jog on son, currently awaiting an answer as there is no way that is justifiable.

That is ridiculous. If that were me - even sending 1st class recorded - I would not charge more than £3 (basically, I charge £2 for the first figure and 25p for each extra, 1st class recorded).
