Re: The good, the bad and the fugly
Loss can be a disease at times, some years ago sadly my sister passed away, I had at the time just lost my job split up with the missus and had nowhere to go, effectively I felt as sad as I have ever felt, but life does go on and it's times like these when having people to support you is important, I guess what I'm trying to say is we are all action force brothers and if I can help in anyway let me know, when you hit rock bottom the only way to go is up.

Sorry to hear your sad news Nobunaga.
It certainly puts my own petty little problems & complaints into perspective when I hear awful news like that..like Eddie said if you need help, we're here for you.

Re: The good, the bad and the fugly
I just realised, I lost my job (effectively) when my Granddad died, and got a new one when my father in law died. f*cking weird. I just want to have a life, its been so damned hard looking for work and dealing with this, I'd be up all night scouring job sites, 7 days a week. Apart from tying up my own work and the funeral I plan to do FA.
Nobunga, man that's about as harsh as it gets. I'm really sorry to hear that. I really don't think it gets easier, my Great Gran who died when I was 13, still upsets me. But you do learn to live with it. If you have solid friends and family, that will help I think. Kids are tougher than anything else to deal with.
Thanks everyone for the words, I'm in a situation where I'm sad one minute then happy the next, Its a bit confusing but its all coming together.
Mark

Yeah, without wanting to bring anybody down, I don't think you can ever get over grief, just develop mechanisms to cope. They work, though, in time.

You'll always have good memories of older family members Mark, I'll always remember the good times I had with my Grandparents...I always feel bad saying this, but my Grandparents all died after suffering from long & painful illness, & in a lot of ways it was relief when they passed away, it felt as if their pain was finally over & they could be at peace..I hope no one thinks I'm being callus by saying this, it's just my way of coping with the situation.

Me to Ed it still saddens me that my dad's dad had alzheimers and cancer to deal with not a good way for one of our country's war heroes to bow out.

I think everyone is right; Even though grief and loss is terrible, you do find ways to cope, which in turn makes things easier over time (but never fully over it). And yes, you're up one minute, and then feeling down the next. I know exactly how you're feeling Mark with that
I've been lucky in having great friends and family supporting us, which has helped us cope
I also realised today that since it happened, I have been buying copious amounts of AF stuff off Ebay. This is obviously one way I have subconsciously decided to cope with it too. My creedit card bill is going to be ridiculous this month
I have to admit, even though this is Chopper's thread, it does feel good to tell people what I've been through too, despite the fact I only know you guys from this site. Which is quite nicely summed up by gung-hoeddie...

Re: The good, the bad and the fugly
The way I see it, this is BFTB's thread. They all are and I like it when people chime in, that's what chat is about. Altho I try not to hijack too much, the banter can be all to hard to resist
All Action Force nutters indeed. I'll say it again, this is by far the friendliest (and casual) forum I've ever subscribed too. Its one reason why I got involved in the colouring and website. Feel free to say what's on your mind.
Corny, I know but if this place were a pub it'd be perfect, but I'd probably be divorced.
Please don't shoot me for that, My liege
I won't do it again.

My nuts wouldn't be attached either Chopper. I like the analogy though.
