Then I found a bargain for 9.99. And an that I bought entirely using coppers at a Boots.

He did. That sparked off my Space Force quest. Now I have over 40, and love em.

My first figure was Eagle, I think. In the BAF give away. The local bookshop put them aside for me every week. That was my Mum's treat for us kids. One comic each. I walked into town to get my Friday comic and when the teller handed my reserved copy over I nearly wet myself. There, in the bag (we NEVER got the free gifts in New Zealand) was Eagle. So, I counted up all my cash and blew the lot on the rest of the comics on stand. Which was Skip, Tracker and Breaker. I still have them and I can remember that feeling as vividly as typing this. You couldn't buy AF in NZ, so it was just awesome on a scale beyond awesome.

My first store purchased figure was Toltoys Breaker. Then it went down hill from there. I already had Action Man and a few uniforms etc. My Great Aunt worked at Farmer's (a large dept store chain), she lived with my great Nana in Auckland and we would visit a couple of times a year, usually Christmas. Because I was the eldest great-grandchild I got spoilt rotten. Loved both of them dearly, though. Anywho, every year Aunty Mary would get me one or two Star Wars figures. She knew what floated my boat in 1977. Stupidly I gave the figures away, kept a couple but Star Wars will always be my first love. Even if I don't collect them like Action Force.

First figure was the Ground Assault who explored every room of our bungalow on regular intervals, got him from Rhyl on hoilday.

My first jointed figure - tricky but I think it was Torpedo that my Mum got me for no apparent reason from a shop in Tunstall, Staffs.

My first ARAH figure was Crankcase with the AWE from Macclesfield, then the floodgates really opened.......................

sh*t I can't even remember lol. It was probably Ground assault as well. I remember as a kid always trying to avoid the "rifle arm" posed guys.

I'm pretty sure it was but I lost him in a tree until I moved from Shoreham 12 years later, So my next figure was a & Junkyard from the Brighton Station Sunday Market (The next was and ).

i can remember mine, it was about 1984 there was a lad who lived down the road from us i'm not sure why but he was selling his Action Force figures an vehicles. he was selling them for 25p each. the first ones i got was a sapper, ironblood and 2para. dad gave me £2 a week pocket money so i would go down his house on a friday buy 6 figures then spend the remainder on panini football stickers 4pks 48p happy days.

I'm not 100% certain but I think it was with his Jeep, that's the first AF figure that I actually remember getting from a shop but it's possible that I had or before that.

I remember getting free with Eagle comic as BAF was sold out and my brother got Tiger with but I later swapped my Darth Vader figure for him.

My first was from series 1, possibly SAS as all things SAS fascinated me back then. My first Joe style figures were either the CLAW 3 pack with Ripcord, Duke and Cobra Trooper or Mutt & Junkyard I think. All were bought at Ramsdens, a local superstore with a Toymaster in it.

I love these types of threads. Makes me go all squishy inside.
First AF was an SAS fella. I chewed his arm off. And then his head. And then his legs.
Hasbro AF is what really got me hooked. First fig was a Televiper and first vehicle was a Ferret.
The story of how I buried them in the sand in Lanzarote has since passed in to folklore.

I remember a lot of my Gi Joe figures became casualties of my air gun as a teenager Doh!
The Palitoy guys were very robust against a pellet compared to the Hasbro fodder and their exploding limbs.

How I now kick myself all these years later double doh!!!
