Hi everybody,
This is my first post, but hopefully not my last. I judt found the Action Force Online site, and it's great.
However, I didn't find all the information for I needed (I guess comparing it to yojoe is not fair considering the site isn't up that long).
About two years ago I bought a MIB Cobra FANG on ebay. Funny thing is when I opened the red box I discoverd it didn't hold the original black/red FANG as shown on the box-front, but the black/yellow colored version that was available as the Hawk in the SAS Force series. The pilot that came with it was the original Cobra Soldier as pictured on the box. The decals were also the cobra ones, and not the SAS-ones.
Are these type of packing-errors common, or do they appear very often?
Because if they appear often it's going to be one hell of a job to collect all versions of all the vehicles. Just think about it:
- black/yellow version with SAS-decals
- black/yellow version with Cobra-decals
- black/red version with Cobra-decals
- And then maybe the German SATT version?
Help.... me ... Need.. info....
-Marc de Ruiter
packege variant?
There seems to be a real disparity between the box images of AF/Cobra era vehicles and the actual vehicles:
For example the AF Wolverine - box + promo image is green, every one I've ever seen is black!
It seems that Palitoy cleared old stock first, for example Hyenas and Roboskulls were definitely sold in overstickered boxes, in some cases Cobra Roboskulls came with the Shadow era Red Wolf.
The problem I've got is getting images of this stuff, I don't collect AF/Cobra era toys so I'm dependent on images that are sent in.
There is a small update to post, hopefully this evening or tomorrow.

So there were some Green ones....
..Bad News for completist collectors
My guess would be they changed to Green when the stockpile of black ran out.
The Green in the pictures on the box of the Wolverine seems the same as the GI Joe, so it possible they used GI Joe moulds straight off to produce the prototypes, but then reverted to black to clear the stockpile.
Or perhaps they realised that the black was much cooler looking
