Action Man 40th Talking Commander
Does the re-issue talking commander actually talk? It's not a deal breaker but it would be nice to know before buying one.

He shure does, just pull the string...unlike the original record/spring combo,I think it's electronic as if you look @ the back there's a small battery cover.

I was going to buy from Eagles Eye Store on the net as other than Model Zone they are the only ones I could find who are still stocking the 40th; I tried Modellers Loft at first but they don't appear to have any 40th in stock at all now.gung-hoeddie wrote:i can't tell you for a few days yet untill mine arrives, which seller are you looking at?

Thanks, Thundershot; it makes sense that the new one is electronic rather than mechanical as it would probably be too expensive to recreate the original these days. Where would we be without the microchip?Thundershot wrote:He shure does, just pull the string...unlike the original record/spring combo,I think it's electronic as if you look @ the back there's a small battery cover.

Re: Action Man 40th Talking Commander
The Talking Commander has been refereed to as the talking mumbler. He isn't the greatest apparently but if you want a cheaper talker then its really the only way. I just scored a 40th Fallschirmjager for next to nix, just wanted 1 before they all disapear. I already have a last version EE Talker in near mint condition.

Are vintage talkers expensive, then? Eagle Eye Toys are selling the 40th EE Talker Commander for £20-25 which I think is about as cheap I'm going to get now.

Anything vintage is expensive, especially if its in good nick. It won't be long when 40th stuff starts to go up I think, which is why I nabbed one. So yeah, I'd go grab one while the going is good.the enemy muton wrote:Are vintage talkers expensive, then?
