Has this happened to anyone else?

Post by the enemy muton »

Just been to log into my ebay account and I get a message saying 'we need an email address for you to continue buying and selling on ebay' and it takes me to a screen asking me to input a new email and my password. 'Hmmm, this is odd' I think so go to my email account and just as I thought I am receiving email notices fine from ebay so they must have my email, so then I check my ebay account again (which logs me in normally this time) and all is fine there too.

Anyone else had a similar message, or was it just a temporary glitch in the Matrix?

no, the only weirdness i've had with eBay is them telling my watched items are ending soon when they're not ending for like, three weeks or something.

did you see a black cat walk past you twice?

Sounds like a scam. You may have some spyware. Did the pop-up appear before or after you entered your password?

I advise you to change all of your site passwords, especially banking.

Then run spyware scans. Ad-Aware and Spybot are both free to download - be sure to run the updates being scanning.

You could contact ebay too - they can at least rule in or out any glitch in the system from their end, and it will make them aware (if they aren't already).

Generally, any announcements like that show up AFTER you log in. It may be genuine.

If you have the opportunity, try logging in to your account from a different PC.
